September 2016 Sketches In Thyme layout

I loved this sketch. It inspired me to change it up a little bit. I did quite a lot of layering under the photo and made an L shaped ledge for it to rest on. Love this photo of my grandson in his bath.

Guesting on Shimelle's blog today!

I was so excited when Shimelle asked me to be a guest on her blog today! I had a video of hers to watch and was told the theme was "home". You know I love, love, love my little grandson, so of course he is the focus of this page (again). I used mostly Shimelle's products. Here are the details.

My only grandson turned one on my twenty-fifth anniversary, and photos of him and his family are some of my main inspirations for scrapping. Having watched Shimelle and Glitter Girl scrap for the past however many years, I often scrap lift from the videos. I used many of her lines on this layout that I scraplifted and made my own, and they work so well together: Go Now Go Journey paper, Starshine Orion and Hubble papers, washi, tiny letter stickers and embellishments. I used a wood word and rubber faces from Freckled Fawn, and Versamark and Hero Arts white embossing powder, along with Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers and the Tim Holtz applicator.

You can see my layout on Shimelle's blog and here are some previews linked to the page.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great day :)

July Sketches in Thyme Layout

Hi - I'm sorry I missed a month.  I lost my mom. Even though I had her for 56 years, it's tough.

I used my July Hip Kit for this Sketches in Thyme layout of my grandson's 1sr bog birthday party called Oh What Fun I am 1!. I did get a bit of mixed media on. Thank you for looking.

May 30th Sketches in Thyme layout

Hi - here's my latest layout for Sketches in Thyme .  Yup - another one of my grandson. I just can't help scrapping him. His mom bought him a bubble machine and sait him in the yard and turned it on. She got these fabulous photos! Thank you for looking.

Another Cute and Happy Baby layout

That's not so bad, right? Makes my day to see this beautiful smile.

I started this layout because Shimelle had a challenge to use vellum on a layout and Mercy Tiara had a challenge to scrap a boy/male layout. I combined them and here it is. I used a combo of Shimelle's lines and Hip Kit Club kits for this layout. I had a lot of fun making it and having my little grandson looking up at me made it even better.

For Mercy Tiara's challenge - he's a boy, so this is a male layout.

For Shimelle's challenge, there  is vellum under each photo and I punched tiny star borders from vellum and put the borders on the page near the photos and then I used the teeny tiny stars and glued them all over the page. More are on the top than the bottom, but they are spread out. I'm not sure you can see any of them, but, honestly, they are there.

I think I may have gone overboard with the embellishments on this one, but it's done!  Thank you for looking.

I Love This Boy

This is my first Chihuahua, Sam. He is a good friend and I've known him for about 9 years. I scraplifted #totally love by gonewiththewind. I really like that layout and I hope I did it some honor by lifting it. Thank you, gonewiththewind, for the inspiration. I used some scraps and mostly the new collection I bought this week - Echo Park Creative Agenda. It's so pretty and colorful. I just had to play with it. The embellishments are from the collection, as well as from Freckled Fawn and my stash. I sprinkled (liberally) with Heidi Swapp Color Shine and then dropped a bit of India ink.

@ Nappy Time

Yup - another layout of my darling grandson. I just can't help it - I'm so in love with him! So, he has some trouble sleeping. The journaling is private - in a pocket I made with 2 PL cards. I used all scraps for this layout. I made 3 flair pieces with my Epiphany Crafts SST-14 Round punch, which I haven't used in a long time. I used 3 Heidi Swapp Color Shine colors and healthily spritzed the background. The scraps of paper are mostly from very old Studio Calico kits. The cork hearts have gold glittery highlights on them and they are from Pink Paislee – C’est La Vie. The Thickers are Adorn.
